David Meneret
Founder and Chief Investment Officer ("CIO")

Prior to establishing Mill Hill Capital, Mr. Meneret was a Senior Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager in charge of Securitized Debt and Corporate Financials Trading at Macquarie’s Credit Nexus Fund from 2012 to early 2015. He was Head of Securitized Debt Trading at Macquarie’s Credit Principal Trading division from late 2008 to early 2012. Before he joined Macquarie, Mr. Meneret was a senior trader on the Structured Products Proprietary Trading Desk at UBS New York from 2006 to 2008. At UBS, Mr. Meneret managed the ABS CDO, CLO, and Aircraft ABS trading books. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Meneret structured Aircraft and Esoteric ABS for Credit Lyonnais Americas and Credit Agricole/Calyon Americas.

Mr. Meneret holds a M.S. in Financial Engineering from Columbia University and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris, France.

Hongwei Cheng
Head of Research, and Chief Risk Officer ("CRO")

​Hongwei has worked in the financial services sector for the last 22 years of his career in quantitative development roles at Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.  Prior to joining Mill Hill Capital, Hongwei was a Senior Vice President and Head of Investment, Risk & Finance Model Risk for Prudential Financial.  Prior to Prudential, Hongwei was the Head of Credit Product Quantitative Modelling for Macquarie.  Hongwei has previously been a Lecturer / Research Scientist at Yale University and an adjunct Professor at New York University in the Spring of 2015.  Hongwei holds a Bachelor's Degree in Math from Zhejiang University, a Master's Degree in Math from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from New York University.


Jacob Apik, CFA
Trader, Transportation and ABS

Jacob has been at Mill Hill since 2015 and is responsible for trading the Transportation & ABS strategy. Since 2018, he has been trading Aircraft ABS, EETCs, shipping bonds, consumer ABS, and consumer ABS. He designs, builds, tests and maintains valuation models across numerous asset classes, including CLOs, RMBS, ABS as well as corporate bonds in the financial and transportation sectors in addition to trading and monitoring markets with a focus on Mill Hill’s ABS strategy. Prior to joining Mill Hill, Jacob obtained an MS in Operations Research from Columbia University with a concentration in Financial and Managerial Applications. He was also a programming assistant to Professor Mark Broadie of Columbia Business School in a statistical golf analytics project.

Jacob holds an MEng degree from the University of Oxford in Engineering, Economics and Management with First Class Honors. There, he was the recipient of a university scholarship, scholars’ gown, numerous collections prizes and two Benlian scholarships.

Jack Zhou
Trader, Financials

Jack Zhou joined Mill Hill Capital in December 2020 and is a Vice President on the Investment Team, focused on the research, trading and monitoring of asset classes and markets within Mill Hill’s Financials strategy. Prior to joining Mill Hill, Mr. Zhou worked at Rokos Capital in London, England, as a senior member of the COO team focused on multiple asset class buildout projects, managing operational risk matters and researching firmwide strategic initiatives. Previous to Rokos, Mr. Zhou was a founding member and CFO of LindenGrove Capital, a discretionary global macro hedge fund which he helped launch and manage for seven years. Earlier in his career, Mr. Zhou was a junior trader in the Nomura Liquid Markets Proprietary Trading Group, where he was tasked with portfolio monitoring, trade execution and counterparty management. He started his career as a private equity analyst at Silver Lake Partners.

Mr. Zhou graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, concentrating in Finance and Accounting.


Andrew Beer
Chief Operating Officer ("COO"), Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”)

Prior to joining Mill Hill, Mr. Beer worked at Arcesium LLC from 2015 to 2021, and at Citi from 2010 to 2015. At Arcesium, Mr. Beer was a Vice President on the Financial Operations team, where he supported D. E. Shaw’s Asset-Backed and Reinsurance business units, managing the operational workflow, accounting, and P&L for securitized products. At Citi Global Markets, Mr. Beer worked for the Institutional Clients Group Middle Office team, supporting the Global Securitized Markets business. Mr. Beer managed the team of 7 people supporting the business, split across two locations.

Mr. Beer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from the University of Florida.


Silene Lim
Head of Business Development and Investor Relations

Silene Lim joined Mill Hill in August 2023. Silene has over 20 years of institutional asset raising in hedge. Prior to Mill Hill Capital, she was a third-party marketer at Caplink Securities, Inc, where she raised assets for hedge funds, private credit, real estate, venture capital and private equity. She also worked at Abra, building out their asset management business; Pagaya, which uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to purchase US unsecured consumer loans. Silene lived in Singapore from 2009 to 2019, where she worked for Dymon Asia Capital, Ltd, for six years, predominantly raising assets for its two macro funds and equity platform; venture capital and private equity. She also worked at IIFL Capital, which was a directional long short India focused fund for close to two years. Silene started out her hedge fund career after business school at Amaranth Group Inc, a Greenwich based multi-strategy hedge fund, in 2003.

Silene has an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business in May 2002 and BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in December 1994.
